This mama wood duck and her eleven little ones were out for a paddle early this morning when I walked at the Lake. Wood ducks nest in tree cavities or man-made nest boxes - probably one reason so many of her babies have survived this long. Hopefully they will all make it to adulthood.
This image was digitally manipulated to give more definition to the ducks - which seemed lost in a morass of blue in the original image. I love the effect the manipulation had on the water as well.
